Love Irish Food and Bank of Ireland recently conducted The 2025 Food and Beverage Industry Barometer and the results show resilience and innovation across the sector with an 8% annual rise in companies developing a domestic growth strategy.

The survey of 120 Irish food producers, from household brands to high-growth SMEs, captures the priorities and challenges faced across the industry.

Key takeaways include:

  • More than 70% of food and drink businesses are focused on, and believe they can achieve, revenue growth
  • 61% are focused on building a strong brand presence within the sector
  • 66% have planned to invest in operations to improve overall efficiencies
  • 95% have embedded sustainability practices into their work

Notably, the top challenges that the sector is face are cost pressures, labour availability, and shifting economic conditions.
