The mission of GS1 Healthcare is to lead the Healthcare sector to the successful development and implementation of global standards, by bringing together experts in Healthcare to enhance patient safety and supply chain efficiencies.
GS1 Ireland Healthcare User Group (HUG)
Working closely with the Global Healthcare User Group and GS1 Member Organisations, local Healthcare User Groups have also been established in a number of countries around the world. These groups are facilitated by GS1 Member Organisations and ensure that specific local requirements are taken into account in global standards development and promote and support local adoption and implementation of such standards.
GS1 Ireland launched the Irish HUG in April 2013 and became the 32nd such group in the world. The focus of the group is to promote the adoption of GS1 Standards locally and to help the user community understand the actions they need to take.
