Stillgarden Distillery celebrating Earth Day by giving away 500 grow kits

Stillgarden Distillery is celebrating Earth Day, by hosting a series of sustainability workshops and community initiatives throughout the month of April, including a giveaway of 500 grow kits. The promotion will take place on Earth Day, Friday, April 22nd to encourage the Irish community to develop their very own botanical garden at home. Frank Hederman and Belvelly Smoke House celebrate 40 years

Belvelly Smoke House is celebrating 40 years in business this year. Founded in 1982 by husband-and-wife team Frank Hederman and Caroline Workman, the Cork food company now employs eight staff and is 'Ireland's only authentic timber smokehouse for Irish salmon'. Highlights from their 40 years in business include featuring on the menu at the State banquet held for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 80th birthday celebrations and being mentioned in The New York Times; “To say Frank Hederman smokes fish is to say that Steinway makes pianos”. Recently, Frank Hederman became the first Irish person to receive the Walter Scheel Medal, the prestigious annual European culinary prize that recognises outstanding contributions to European culinary culture. The judges commended Frank’s traditional methods, as well as his ‘four-decade dedication to producing the finest possible quality, smoked salmon’.

Listoke Distillery launch Blue Owl Vodka

Listoke Distillery has announced the launch of a new range of triple distilled vodkas called 'Blue Owl'. There are three products in the range, Original, Mixed Berry and Chocolate. All are intended to be served with a mixer or as part of a cocktail. The range is described as having 'a unique flavour profile, as well as an unusual smoothness'. Only natural, sustainably sourced ingredients are used in the production of Listoke Distillery spirits. The new range has a retail price of €28 for a 700ml bottle, Blue Owl Vodka is available online at www.listokedistillery.ie. Mini sets of all 3 flavours are €20.

Meltdown collaborates with Guy Sinnott on new toastie 'The Fiery Redhead'

Meltdown, the well known Dublin café specialising in the toasted sandwich, recently teamed up with Instagram star Guy Sinnott to create a spicy new cheese toastie. Sinnott become well known during lockdown for his comfort food cook-alongs and now has over 43,000 followers on Instagram. The new toastie, named 'The Fiery Redhead' features spicy nduja, white cheddar and caramelised onions. The Fiery Redhead is exclusively available at Meltdown from April 1 to May 31 for €9. Meltdown cafés are located on Leeson Street and Montague Street in Dublin.

Vodafone’s Anne O’Leary given special recognition at CIO & IT Leaders Awards

Anne O’Leary, chief executive of Vodafone Ireland, received the special recognition award for outstanding contribution to innovation and the IT industry in Ireland at the CIO & IT Leaders awards in Dublin this month. O’Leary has held leadership roles in the telecoms sector for over 25 years and was honoured for her work in progressing the industry as well as her commitment to improving workplace diversity.
