Dingle Distillery seeking planning permission to upgrade visitor centre

Dingle Distillery is seeking planning permission for a multimillion-euro upgrade of its premises that will create at least 60 jobs, improve their visitor experience and eventually double capacity. The upgrade to the facility, which was previously used as a sawmill, will involve creating new purpose-built tasting rooms. 50,000 bottles of the triple-distilled, non-chill filtered Dingle Single Malt have been produced at the facility and will be sold domestically as well as exported to the UK, Germany, France, China and, later this year, the US. The distillery expects to produce 100,000 bottles of Dingle Single Malt, and half a million bottles across the distillery’s portfolio, by 2023. Each step in the production is done manually, while the distillery’s water source is its own well, 240m below ground.

Midlands farmer launches new oat milk product

A midlands farmer has launched a new oat milk product to challenge the leading market brands. Many oat milk brands contain little or no naturally occurring oat fibre, so Tullamore farmer Liam Lynam, created his own oat drink, Oat in the City, which retains all the oats’ natural fibre and goodness.  The premium oat drink is already stocked in over 200 retail and hospitality outlets in the midlands including SuperValu stores, independent retailers and coffee shops, as well as Donnybrook Fair and Nolan's of Clontarf. Oat in the City was also selected as one of 50 local Irish producers to be stocked in all Aldi stores countrywide, in a special promotion in June, as part of the Grow with Aldi programme. Congratulations Liam!
