Catherine Fulvio visits Wicklow producers on RTÉ

Two GS1 Ireland members featured on RTÉ One this week on Catherine Fulvios's 'Catherine Celebrates Valentines'. She visited two Wicklow food producers, Wicklow Way Wines and O’Hanlon Herbs to create the perfect Valentine's meal.

Atlantis Seafood builds new e-commerce site

Atlantis Seafood, which has been in business for 25 years, is now selling fish on its new e-commerce site and delivering it nationwide using specially developed packaging which keeps it chilled. Atlantis and many other companies are availing of supports from Bord Bia, which is rolling out a 'Think Digital' programme to help small and medium-sized food companies target customers through e-commerce. Whiplash Beer appoints CASK for UK distribution

Whiplash Beer has entered a partnership with UK craft beer specialist, CASK International, for its distribution in the UK. Whiplash produces three year-round beers, Body Riddle Pale Ale, Rollover Session Ale and Northern Lights Micro IPA, along with special editions and collaboration brews. CASK International specialises in craft beer which is distributed via their cold-chain network across the UK.

West Cork Distillers bottles stout cask-finished whiskey

West Cork Distillers has teamed up with the Blacks of Kinsale brewery to release a stout cask-finished blended Irish whiskey. Following the release of West Cork Distillers’ IPA Cask Finished whiskey, the producer has now finished a blended Irish whiskey in casks that previously held Blacks of Kinsale Stout. According to West Cork  Distillers, it has 'aromas of chocolate, raisins and cracked nuts and flavours of dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla.' You can buy West Cork Stout Cask on their online store priced €28.95.

Irish Distilleries Honoured at Icons of Whisky Awards

The Icons of Whisky Awards, by Whisky Magazine, recognise the people, places and products that make up the entire whisky industry. They recently announced the Icons of Irish Whiskey at a virtual ceremony. The overall Distiller of the Year award went to Waterford Distillery. Craft Producer of the Year went to Dingle Distillery, and Glendalough Distillery was named as Sustainable Distillery of the Year.
