Digital Business Ireland National Digital Awards 2020

Congratulations to GS1 Ireland member, Jump Juice Bars, who were runners up in the inaugural Digital Business Ireland National Digital Awards 2020. Over 300 businesses and individuals entered the awards series across 13 categories with the finalists gathering for the virtual awards ceremony hosted by broadcaster Jonathan Healy last week.

Vodafone Ireland picks up Business & Finance Award

Vodafone Ireland picked up the "Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Award" at the Business & Finance Awards in association with KPMG Ireland which was held virtually last week. The award was established as part of the Business & Finance Awards programme to recognise a company with Irish operations that is at the forefront of improving the lives of its employees. The award was presented by Seamus Hand, Managing Partner at KPMG Ireland, to Anne O’Leary, CEO of Vodafone Ireland.

Kinsale Spirit Company commences exports to China

The Kinsale Spirit Company has starting exporting Kinsale Gin and Red Earl Irish whiskey products to China from Cork port. The company already exports to the US market. Last year, Kinsale Gin won three international awards – Gin of the Year, Gin Producer of the Year, and a Double Gold. Congratulations to the Kinsale Spirit Company for making the leap from local to global.

Burren Smokehouse launch St Patrick's Day hamper

Burren Smokehouse have launched their St Patrick's Day hamper which contains chocolate, gouda cheese, oatcakes, and Keogh’s shamrock and sour cream crisps, as well as three types of organic smoked salmon. There is also a candle with an Irish fireside scent and a card with a QR code that takes you to a YouTube playlist of traditional music from the Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna. The cost of the hamper is €85 plus delivery. Order before March 14 for delivery by St Patrick’s Day on their website burrensmokehouse.com.

JJ Corry whiskey strikes US distribution deal

Irish whiskey bonder JJ Corry has struck an exclusive importation and distribution deal in the United States. The company behind the JJ Corry brand, Chapel Gate Irish Whiskey, was founded by Louise McGuane in 2015 on her family farm in Co Clare. The company has raised in excess of €1m in funding and its products will now be distributed in America by Trinity Beverage Group. Trinity Beverage’s reach extends over 50 states and 88 distributors in the United States. Congratulations JJ Corry.

Tesco to stock Simply Fit Food products in Irish stores

Simply Fit Food, a supplier of healthy ready meals, has secured a listing with Tesco Ireland. The company, founded by Evelyn Garland and Luke Judge and acquired by Newry food manufacturer, Around Noon, last year, will supply its range of Power Bowls to a number of Tesco stores in the Republic of Ireland. It is the first listing the company has secured with Tesco Ireland. Congratulations to Simply Fit Food on their success.

Clonakilty Minke Sloe Gin Named Best in Class at The World Gin Awards 

West-Cork based Clonakilty Distillery has won Best Irish Sloe Gin at the World Gin Awards in London. Following a blind tasting by a panel of expert judges, Minke Sloe Gin beat stiff competition ato take home the award. Ewan Paterson, Visitor Experience Manager at the distillery also received “Highly Commended” in the “Visitor Attraction Manager of the Year”, category. Congratulations Clonakilty Distillery.

Lir launches Baileys cupcakes in time for Mother's Day

Lir have launched their Baileys chocolate cupcakes in time for Mother's Day. They come in four flavours; red velvet, double chocolate, Baileys Original and strawberries and cream. Each cake is combined with Baileys, encased in a chocolate shell and topped with an icing swirl. You can buy the cupcakes online here or in selected retail stores. They have also launched their new Bailey's Luxe Mini Eggs for Easter and you can get them online now.
