GIAI

GIAIs or Global Individual Asset Identifiers are the GS1 Identification Key used to uniquely identify a specific asset.

GIAIs are variable length up to 30 alpha numeric characters composed of a GS1 Company Prefix and an Individual Asset Reference. The GIAI is assigned by the owner of the asset and may be bar coded using Application Identifier (8004).
