An introductory course on GS1 standards and the use of RFID in the Apparel sector.

This course was designed to complement the GS1 in Apparel webinar run by GS1 Ireland in association with VisionID. It covers the basics of EPC and RFID, as well as focusing on the benefits of GS1 standards in Apparel and Information on GS1 Smartsearch.

Course modules:

Electronic Product Code (EPC) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) (Paid module)

This 10 minute course introduces the basics of EPC and the use of RFID. GS1 EPC standards enable globally-unique identification numbers to be used for RFID, with major benefits in the tracking and tracing of products, services and other items in supply chains. By the end of the course you will be able to:

• Understand how EPC/RFID can be used for the unique serialised identification of objects
• Understand the use of RFID
• Understand the benefits to be gained from the adoption of EPC/RFID

Also included is a section providing case studies on the benefits achieved through the implementation of GS1 EPC and RFID across different industries.
