Measurement Standards

The GDSN Package Measurement Standards were developed to increase the accuracy of package measurements. Accurate measurements add stability to supply chains by improving logistics, warehouse management, space management, outbound shipping, new item introduction, financial processes, and customer service.

The GDSN Package Measurement Standards include the GDSN Package Measurement Rules. These rules facilitate the dimensional measurement and weighing of retail and nonretail products and they include the consumer unit to the pallet and all intermediate packaging levels in between.
