A Message from our CEO (30/03/2020)
Dear Member,
As you will be aware, last weekend the Government announced strict guidelines* for people to stay at home from Friday 27th March until Easter Sunday, 12th April. (*Click to read the new Public Health measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19 issued by Department of Health and Department of the Taoiseach.)
The weeks ahead will be challenging for all of us as we adapt to new ways of working, shopping and caring for our families and communities. We will continue to regularly update this page with information from the Government and HSE as well as details of supports for your business from GS1 Ireland.
I want to assure you that we are open and ready to assist your business as we all navigate our way through this unprecedented crisis. We have arranged for all services and supports provided to Members, Partners and Suppliers alike to be provided remotely by members of our team:
- Our Helpdesk and Membership Services Team are fully operational and available to take calls, email queries and to process licence applications.
- Full support is available for anyone accessing any of our tools and solutions including Barcode Manager, fTRACE and the Logistics Label Tool
- We have the facilities to provide online training, support and consultancy to members that need one-to-one technical support.
- Our current training modules are being revised for delivery online, together with some brand new training courses that will be delivered virtually.
- Our eLearning Platform is available to anyone that wishes to use this time to complete an online course. View certificate course details.
With these steps in place we believe we can continue to service you, our valued members, while ensuring we comply with the requirement to stay at home and avoid non-essential travel.
This is obviously a challenging time for everyone. Please be assured our Team at GS1 Ireland will continue to support industry and our members, as well as safeguard our community. By working together, we can limit the impact of this virus and hopefully return to normal as quickly as possible.
Please do pass on this information to colleagues within your organisation and if you need any further support or if there is a specific way we can help you at this time, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes
Mike Byrne
CEO, GS1 Ireland
