End of Year Update for Members
Nov 25, 2022,
by Mike Byrne - Category: Member Notices24.11.2022 A note to members from Mike Byrne, Chief Executive GS1 Ireland

Dear Member,
As member-governed, not-for-profit organisation, GS1 Ireland is proud to offer its members a portfolio of licences, services, and tools that empower organisations to grow efficiently, sustainably, and safely. As we progress beyond the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and Brexit, we are also conscious that all businesses, including GS1, are facing new challenges caused by rising energy costs and general inflation, resulting from the longer-term impact of the war in Ukraine.
We are writing to inform you of an increase, of approx. 7%, to some GS1 licence fees, the first fee increase since 2015. As a valued member, we want to provide you with a guide to the new licence fees. View Rates. The new fees will be applied automatically from 1st January 2023. View Table A of Fees 2023.
In line with our commitment to supporting Business start-ups and Artisan producers, the Barcode Licence GCP 11,and the Barcode Licence GCP 9 are both excluded from the price increase where the Member’s audited (or otherwise verified) turnover is less than €1 million.
As an additional support, from January 2023 GS1 Ireland will offer access free-of-charge to all members to a series of scheduled Level 1 barcode training courses. Registration details will be provided on our website in December for these courses. View Calendar for dates and booking.
At GS1 Ireland we are also pleased to report that our Members continue to respond to changes in buyer and market-place behaviour using new GS1 standards and solutions such as Barcode Manager, Verified by GS1 and GS1 Digital Link to highlight their product offerings. We look forward to supporting more members with their business needs, and also to introducing new 2nd generation barcodes, such as GS1 Data Matrix, in all sectors in 2023 and beyond.
Our commitment to you is that we will do everything possible to ensure you have access to the support you need in a radically changing business environment.
We are available to all members to meet your requirements for product identification, traceability, sustainability, and labelling requirements. Please contact us and an expert member of our Industry Engagement team will be delighted to assist.
Mike Byrne, Chief Executive GS1 Ireland, November 2022
