For the apparel sector, this matters now.

The European Commission’s current Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) legislation has prioritised textiles. The forthcoming Delegated Act will focus on textiles/apparel, specifically finished apparel goods.

GS1’s DPP Mission Specific Working Group will launch a new subteam focused on the apparel industry’s needs on 27 May 2026.

Ahead of the subteam kick-off, GS1 will host this global industry webinar to address the following:

• GS1’s role in DPP standardisation
• How you can leverage standards you already use today, like the GTIN and 2D barcode
• What the new subteam will deliver to industry to help apparel prepare for the Delegated Act
• Who can join, and what’s involved

We encourage all apparel industry members preparing their systems for the Digital Product Passport to attend, including those working on:

• Data/PIM management
• ESG
• Traceability
• Compliance
• On-product identity
