Head of Healthcare and Innovation

Amanda Creane is Head of Healthcare and Innovation at GS1 Ireland. She holds an MSc in Leadership, Innovation and Management for Healthcare from University College Dublin and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. A strategic and results focused leader with over 15 years of experience across the healthcare supply chain, Amanda has worked in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing and packaging development, alongside healthcare system roles, and the development and implementation of standards based traceability solutions. Drawing on her background as a biomedical and manufacturing engineer, she has delivered measurable improvements in processes and outcomes aligned with healthcare priorities.

An advocate for standards based transformation, Amanda leads the adoption of GS1 standards to enable end to end traceability and interoperability from manufacturer to patient. She partners with healthcare systems and providers through digital transformation programmes and Scan4Safety initiatives that strengthen patient safety, deliver trusted data and optimise efficiency. She believes strongly in the power of GS1 Traceability Standards to drive safer, smarter healthcare.
