Barcode Training

This course covers everything to do with barcoding (no prior knowledge of barcoding is required for this course), you will learn how to assign unique identifiers (numbers) to all your products and apply them in the correct barcode format these formats include: barcodes for retail (POS), inner/outer packaging barcodes and Logistic labels for cases/pallets. The course also covers how the GS1 standards can be used to support traceability solutions.

You will experience real life workplace situations in the world of barcoding. A high level of participation is encouraged to ensure that the course is enjoyable and interactive. You may even bring samples of barcodes you are generating.

Topics Covered

Overview of GS1 Standards
Introduction to the (GS1 Identification keys) and how they can be used
The rules and best practices in relation to number allocation and management
The different barcode symbols in the GS1 family (EAN-13, GS1-128, GS1 DataMatrix, GS1 Databar)
Pallet Label Best Practice
Printing quality and barcode verification guidelines

Duration ?
One day - 10am - 4pm (registration and coffee at 9.30am for 10am start)
