News & Events > Resource Library > Healthcare > Medical Device Identification (UDI) Workshops Medical Device Identification (UDI) Workshops GS1 will shortly announce details of new workshops focussing on the unique identification of medical devices (RIMD, endoscopes and dental instruments) using GS1 Standard identifiers. The workshops are being run in response to the HSE’s recent publications concerning the Standards and Recommended Practices for Central Decomtamination Units processing Reusable Invasive Medical Devices (RIMD), Endoscopes and Dental instruments. The workshops will provide participants with information on how the new identification and traceability requirements will affect them. Speakers will include representatives from the medical device industry, GS1 and the HSE.
