GS1 Ireland was delighted to attend, and exhibit at, the recent IMSTA Conference "Towards a Healthier Ireland - Driving Efficiency through Innovation".

The conference was held on February 24th and focussed on how medical technology companies can deliver improved efficiency and productivity for the good of the patient and the economy.

A broad selection of speakers addressed delegates and Dr. Joe Devlin, HSE Director of Quality, Safety and Risk, Quality and Clinical Care Directorate, in particular, emphasised the importance of standards in delivering healthcare services.

GS1 offers continued support to IMSTA and its Members in their drive to implement systems to deliver patient safety and supply chain efficiency through the adoption of standards based identification, bar codes, electronic records and product traceability systems.
